Tara King / Tony Russell Nancy

We’ve all done it sketched up a car and dreamed of one day turning that sketch in to reality with a little help from a Lottery win, a dream consigned to the vigour of youth and put away into our memories. Well for Dominique Billiote a French car designer in his early 20's took his sketches and and turned them into a car, pretty much single handedly no doubt to showcase his skills.

Segrave Jensen Interceptor : Interview

One of my other hats is as an admin on the Retrobeutes facebook page (if you like retro metal head over for a look you won’t be disappointed), I had put up a picture of a Jenson Interceptor with a link back here to the FF version on here, when a comment was posted asking if his Jensen could be featured. “Is it rare or unusual?” I asked and well the car below defiantly ticks both of those boxes and I duly got in contact.

Lagonda Virage

In 1994 with Aston Martin releasing its Virage on to the public a more practical/madder option was offered by its “Factory Service Department”. It offered the 3 door GT car as both a 4 door saloon and also a shooting brake estate, but renamed as a Lagonda Virage!!!!!

Spiess TC 522

Spiess is not a company you'd expect to be dabbling in the new hypercar market, the German company were better known for manufacturing industrial electrical transformers. But in the late 80's and early 90's this exotic market where money and wealth had to be shown, they put its hat in the ring with this. It ticked all the hypercar boxes, mid engined (5.7ltr V8), turbo's (2), top speed of 211mph, 0-60mph in 4 seconds, 500bhp, 6 gears and plenty of this new fangled carbon fibre.

Lamborghini 350 GTS

A year after the launch of Lamborghini's debut car, the 350 GT they showed a drop-top version at The Turin Motor Show in 1965. I think you'll agree that the simple lines of the 350 GT have been enhanced by the work done by Touring. This included frameless doors and new boot to both accommodate the folding roof.

Italdesign Capsula

As pure concepts go this has to be in the ugly beautiful section, however the thought behind it is quite interesting. A chassis that is doubled floored to hold all the running gear and engine, this would then allow a variety of bodies for different uses to be “bolted” on. The ides was taken form coach/bus construction. This was back in 1982, today every manufacturer does something similar, such as the VW Polo sharing the same chassis/engine/running gear as the SEAT Toledo/ Skoda Rapide. This concept took it a little further with the use of the final vehicle being taken into account and could be reconfigured into an ambulance, fire truck or even a van etc this is truly a multi-use vehicle platform.

Autech Zagato Stelvio

I know odd isn’t it; I had never seen one or knew about it until I was casually thumbing through the classifieds in “Classic Weekly” preparing my lottery win wish list. The look of the car in the small pic peaked my interest then how rare the seller said it was!!!! I’m getting ahead of myself, the car does quiet some miles during its construction and delivery. Autech is a custom wing of Nissan, in Japan all car manufacturers are required to offer a custom version of their cars for disabled drivers offered direct from the car builder, most set up special specific companies to do this.
