Mitsubishi Debonair V 3000 Royal AMG

When you think AMG you instantly think high performance, high horse power and high cost Mercedes but in 1986 Mitsubishi teamed up with them on a production project of their executive car the Debonair. AMG took the 3ltr, 200bhp, V6 front wheel drive barge and did nothing with the engine not a single thing. That’s right its bone stock just like the car it’s based on.

So what does the kudos of the AMG badge get you, a bodykit, steering wheel, alloys and a spoiler, no  suspension upgrades and a new nose. Let’s just say this wasn’t a sales success unlike the car it was based on and it bowed out of showrooms in 1989. No doubt yuppies bought some as it was more money and had AMG plastered all over it, in only a way they did it in the 80’s.
