Review: Steve Berry’s Speed Shop Radio Show

If you’re from around the Manchester / North West area of the UK then the sound of Steve Berry’s northern tones is how many of us wake up in the morning with his breakfast show on Real Radio XS. Most though will recognise him from his 10 year stint on Top Gear or his books and regular contribution to various papers and magazines. So there’s no denying his passion and enthusiasm for all things automotive, to be honest he just sweeps you along with it.

Well he’s started a new on-line radio show, Steve Berry’s Speed Shop on FAB Radio International, which as he says at the start “isn’t for the casually interested, this is a place for enthusiasts, we’re not afraid to be talking about carburettors and crankshafts…..” with that I knew this was going to be good.

Chromeography: Review

If there’s one aspect of car shows that I really get enjoyment out of, apart from spotting a rare underappreciated vehicle, it’s looking at all the details. This inevitably means looking at an abundance of chrome, a subject I’ll be covering in an article later this year. This website though however caught my eye “Chromeography” looking primarily at chrome formed text where ever you may find it, there is therefore there is a vast array of car badges from the golden ages of car production.

Fuel Magazine: Review

I’ve known about this magazine for a few years, with it showing up in RetroCars Magazine (UK) and on Speedhunters.com, but it wasn’t until last week with the awesome news that it was now being stocked in the UK at selective newsagents. From the list there was a local WH Smiths on it and I dispatched the otherhalf to pick me up a copy (she works in the same shopping centre).

With anticipation I got the text "got your magazine", I then had to wait will 10pm that night before she was home. When I finally got a copy in my hand it turned out it was a double issue (07,11), I just hoped that it lived up to the expectations I had put on it.
