Now let’s just start be saying I really, really like this conversion.
The way it’s taken that iconic styling and then grafted the rear on whilst
retaining those perfect curves.

Random Picture- World Largest Airwheel
In the late 20’s Goodyear developed and massive 12 foot
tall, 4 foot wide tyres were designed for aircraft but Goodyear modified two
Buicks to allow them to tow one and promptly drove them around the US to publicise
the new innovation. More information and pictures can be found here on “The OldMotor” website-

Vauxhall VX Lightning
The Vauxhall name though has a long and trusted reputation for building quality cars with fast versions, who can forget the Lotus Carlton or the VX220. The VX Lightening was built to celebrate the centenary of Vauxhall back in 2003.

De Tomaso Vallelunga Alloy Body
Now as you know De Tomaso’s are generally rare, the
Vallelunga is no exception with only 53 built, however this one is really
really rare. During its development 6 alloy bodied prototypes were built by
Fissore. Out of those 6 cars built 3 were destroyed under instruction from
Fissore and 3 were kept by De Tomaso. This is one of those remaining 3.

Group B has a lot to answer for, mostly all good, for

Random Video: Chevrolet Streamlines (1936)
Now we’ve said this before but the older pre-war films just
show how easy it is to demonstrate to the general public how complicated principals work.
This film produced by Chevrolet in 1936 easily and practically shows the
aerodynamic principles that are used in car design. I love the comment about fully
streamlined cars of the future being able to do 120mph while providing economic
and efficiency!!! It just shows how far we’ve come with the BMW X1.

Maserati Khamsin
Now this it a footnote in Maserati sports car production,
not only was it the first Bertone styled Maserati but more importantly it’s the
only true wedge the company ever produced. It may have been a Kneejerk reaction
to the ground breaking Lamborghini Countach, styled by Marcello Gandini of Bertone,
only a few years before who also penned this.

Interview: Marshall Foulds Bieber 1977 Scirocco Convertible GTI
Well we’ve been away for a few weeks over the holidays and
are now back refreshed and ready for more rare cars. And what a way to start an
ultra-rare Bieber Convertible Volkswagen Scirocco Mark 1 GTI no less. With my
input on the Scirocco Register I got to interview the owner Marshall Foulds
last year about the car and how he found it and what was needed to get it to the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show.
